The temporary closure of the Ellon Legion continues into 2021 and the latest round of Covid 19 restrictions show no signs of easing in the immediate future. After a very difficult year it is disappointing that the new year has not brought any signs of an easing of the global pandemic. However Ellon Legion has been utilising the enforced closed time to carry out some quite extensive refurbishment work in the Legion premises.
This work now extends from the revamped entrance through the foyer to the bar area and includes redecoration, new heating, new lighting in a new suspended ceiling and an upgrade of the darts and pool table area. A very large part of this work has been carried out by volunteers who are due a very big Thank You from all. Work in these areas is nearing completion and further work to install a new disabled toilet and baby changing facilities and a refurbishment of the snooker room are in the pipeline.
The carrying out of all this work means that, when circumstances permit, the Legion will be able to welcome members, old and new, to fresh and attractive premises. When restrictions begin to be relaxed we will be looking to re-open the club facilities in accordance with the latest guidelines and perhaps in a phased way.
An AGM will be held once the restrictions are lifted and allowed to proceed safely will keep you posted on our Facebook page and our website
Ellon Legion is looking forward to welcoming everyone back as soon as we possibly can
Until we can meet again...Stay safe
